Our annual End-of-Season Bee Block Party is back at Watts Brewing, our favorite “Bee Brewery” in Woodinville with FREE PRIZES & GIVEAWAYS!

For our Rent Mason Bees hosts, this is our annual opportunity to return your nesting blocks to us and celebrate the end of another mason bee season together.

And this year, we’re adding something new! We’re opening the event to ALL mason bee hosts and offering a MINI MASON BEE HARVEST for those who clean and care for their own bees.

You do NOT need to be a Rent Mason Bees customer to join us. Whether you purchased your bees or nesting materials somewhere else, have been raising mason bees for years, are hosting for the first time, or are simply curious about mason bees, you are welcome!

NEW THIS YEAR: MINI MASON BEE HARVEST

Clean your own mason bees? Bring your filled nesting trays or nesting material and we’ll help you harvest your bees!

We’ll help you:

• Open your nesting material and see what happened inside this season
• Learn what you’re looking at, including healthy cocoons, mud, pests and predators
• Use our Mason Bee Sifter to separate your cocoons from the mud and debris
• Identify pests and predators and see some of them up close under our microscopes
• Restack your nesting trays with extra bands we’ll have available

Then, you take it from there! Take your cocoons home, give them a bath, dry them thoroughly, and store them in your refrigerator for winter hibernation.

If you use stacking trays, you’ll also need to do your own “flaming” at home to help remove any remaining pests and predators before storing your trays for next season.

You’ll take your cocoons and nesting materials home with you. We’re simply providing the tools, equipment and hands-on guidance to help you learn how to harvest and care for your own mason bees.

Don’t clean your own bees? Come anyway! We’ll be opening nesting blocks throughout the afternoon so you can see what’s happening inside, learn about healthy bee development, see pests and predators under the microscopes, ask us your mason bee questions, and have a chance to win some fun bee prizes and giveaways!

Grab a beer, bring the family, and spend the afternoon with other mason bee hosts and bee lovers!

CAN’T MAKE THE EVENT? RETURN YOUR BLOCKS ALL MONTH!

For our Rent Mason Bees hosts, we’ll have a Bee Block Drop-Off Bin at Watts Brewing for the entire month of September.

Instead of shipping your rental blocks back to us, simply drop them off at Watts Brewing during their regular business hours throughout September, and we’ll harvest and clean your bees for you this fall.

We can’t wait to celebrate another mason bee season with you!
