Grow More Fruit with Mason Bees!

Mason bees are powerful spring pollinators, active when fruit trees and early spring gardens are bursting with blooms. As they move from blossom to blossom collecting loose pollen on their bellies, they spread pollen from flower to flower. Better pollination can mean more fruit from the trees you already grow.

Hosting Mason Bees Is Easy

You don’t need to be a beekeeper to host mason bees! These gentle, highly efficient spring pollinators emerge right when many fruit trees begin blooming and can pollinate up to 95% of the flowers they visit. There’s no hive, no honey and no queen to care for. Simply set up your bee house, release your bees and let them get to work. At the end of their short spring season, return your nesting block to us and we’ll take care of the harvesting, cleaning and winter care.

When They Emerge & How to Set Up

Simply set up your bee house, put your emergence tube on top of the nest block, remove tape from the tape covering the hole on the emergence tube and watch your bees emerge when temperatures reach 55 degrees. Watch our video for a step-by-step guide on setting up your mason bee kit.

Do You Need Clay?

The refills and large kits do not include clay. If your clay from last season is still in good condition, you're all set! However, if you need more, be sure to add it to your order.

You Clean: Care for Your Own Bees

Hosting your own mason or leafcutter bees means taking
responsibility for their seasonal care and cleaning. Nesting materials can look
perfectly healthy from the outside while predators and disease are hidden
inside.

Opening and cleaning your nesting materials each year allows you to harvest
healthy bees, remove threats like pollen mites, Houdini flies, wasps and
chalkbrood, and provide clean nesting materials for the next generation.

Healthy bees start with a clean bee house.
