Chemical Free Mason Bee Mud/Clay

Includes shipping. Bees sold separately.

Give your mason bees a mud kiss.
Mason bees need mud to build their nests. Female mason bees use mud to create protective walls between each egg chamber and to seal the entrance of their completed nest.
Our chemical-free clay provides a clean, reliable mud source right near your bee house. This is especially helpful if your soil is sandy, rocky, or doesn’t naturally contain enough clay for mason bees to use.
Simply add water to the clay to create moist mud and place it near your bee house during the spring nesting season.

Why provide mason bee mud?

  • Chemical-free clay.
  • Provides an easy, nearby source of nesting material.
  • Helps mason bees build and seal their nesting chambers.
  • Ideal for yards without naturally clay-rich soil.
  • Easy to prepare and place near your bee house.

TIP: Keep the mud moist throughout the mason bee nesting season so females have easy access while building their nests.
